Manchester United 4 – 3 Real Madrid

After a 3-1 loss in Madrid, you wouldn’t have bet against the Manchester United of the early 21st century pulling off a two goal win. The thing is, the Real Madrid of the early 21st century featured Roberto Carlos, Claude Makélélé, Figo, Zinedine Zidane and a completely unplayable, back-from-the-dead Ronaldo. And sure, Steve McManaman, whatever. The Brazilian forward smashed in a hat trick within an hour and all looked to be lost. And it was. However, soon to be Real midfielder David Beckham did what he does best and gave it a shot. If Paul Scholes and Gary Neville hadn’t have gone and got suspended in the first leg, who knows? Maybe it could’ve all been different.
