Arsenal 1 – 2 Manchester United

This was exactly a week before Manchester United’s Champions League semi final against Juventus and you could argue that the events of this one spurred them on. After Roy Keane got sent off (weird), the pendulum definitely swung in Arsenal’s favour and when Phil Neville conceded a penalty (weird) in the 90th minute, it looked to be all over. Dennis Bergkamp failed, Peter Schmeichel succeeded and ultimately everyone remembers rug-chested superinjunctor Ryan Giggs bombing down the line, twirling his shirt round his head after single handedly shredding one of the best defensive units in Europe.
