Brentford 5 – 2 Liverpool

Bit of a tough write up this one, as these teams have only met seventeen times since 1906. And only seven of those have been at Griffin park. As you might suspect, the Bees winning against Liverpool is even sparser than that, only having happened three times. In fact, their last win against the Reds is *still* pre-World War II. So if we’re doing it, we’re going big. In the balance at half time, it was up to prolific Scot Dave McCullough (85 goals in 117 appearances for Brentford, no less) to polish off his hat triack and put it all to bed. Can’t confirm whether there were any documented post-match disturbances, as I don’t think anything had been invented in 1936.
