Manchester United 8 – 2 Arsenal

For the vast majority of the 2000s, Manchester United v Arsenal was the must-watch game. Something always seemed to happen. Ruud van Nistelrooy missing a last minute penalty, Ryan Giggs missing an open goal or just general madcap food fights. Moving into the next decade saw both teams fall into decline and while you can’t say this match was the changing of the guard (Man Utd would win the league in 2013), this was one of the last instantly memorable games between old enemies Ferguson and Wenger. Ten goals, a sending off and a hat trick usually leads to a decent spectacle, whoever wins.
