Liverpool 4 – 3 Newcastle

Occasionally, a game will come along that transcends into folklore. This was one of them, with managers Roy Evans and Kevin Keegan lauding the spectacle. Sadly for Newcastle, it was the beginning of the end of their assult on the league for 1996. They were leading by a full 12 points at Christmas time and the Scousers not only put a dent in the Toon’s campaign but also increased their own chances of lifting the title. But this was the 90s, so Manchester United. A couple of weeks after this, Kev had his famous ‘love it’ meltdown. Good times. Shall we do it all again next year? Well…yes, actually.
