Fulham 0 – 3 Aston Villa

We’re deep into the dreaded COVID at this point. Terrible business. That’s the shortest version of that story you’ll ever hear. Anyway, it affected some more than others, and clearly Fulham were not major fans of the lack of crowds. Villa, however. The stats speak for themselves. Bear in mind this was a week before hammering the current league champions by seven goals to two. If you remember, Fulham beat Villa a couple of seasons prior to this in the playoff final at Wembley. It’s a bit of a stretch to say that this is revenge, but you’d have to say that Villa are in much better shape now than Fulham are, so maybe crushing defeats kind of work in the long run.
