A nice end-of-the-season encounter between two of England’s best known football clubs. But to quote Princess Diana’s 1995 Martin Bashir interview: there were three of us in this marriage. The third wheel here being Sheffield United. Who ultimately got relegated after this result (partially due to their own failure to beat Wigan Athletic). West Ham were fined £5.5m for irregularities involving Tevez’s transfer from Corinthians in 2006, but weren’t docked points. Points that would’ve saved the Blades. At least he didn’t score the winner or anything. Oh.
