Rangers 3 – 2 Dynamo Moscow

Having lost their two other finals in this competition (in 1961 and 1967) coupled with Celtic winning the European Cup in the latter of these two years, the desperation to get their hands on Continental silverware must’ve been palpable for the Gers. Three up just after half time and cruising, it can’t go wrong from there, can it? Well, almost. Dynamo came back but as they attmepted to grab an equaliser there was a pitch invasion before the final whistle. The on-field antics meant Rangers were banned and thus unable to defend their title the following year. Focus on the positives, I suppose.
